I'm guessing that if you've landed on this blog post, you like my custom portraits and are interested in maybe getting one. However, you have questions about the whole thing - much like I did after watching the first episode of "Game of Thrones".
Well, worry not! Because in this post, I explain exactly what happens after you hit that "buy" button on a custom portrait from my shop :)
Custom portraits in my shop are are made-to-order and there are 5 steps to the process...
You choose a photo(s)
Select a high-quality, color photo(s) that shows every person either full-length or from the waist up - this way, I can clearly see the photo subject(s) and their outfits.
Send me your photo
Send your photo(s) to me via email email@example.com or via Etsy Convos. Be sure to include notes about eye colors and any features you want me to pay special attention to (Ex: freckles, glasses, etc.).
I draw your photo
Once I have all the info I need from you, it’s over to me to drink coffee and listen to 90’s music while I illustrate your photo! (I go into detail about my portrait illustration process here).
The first proof of your custom portrait will hit your inbox within 7-10 days after I start.
You get the first proof of your custom portrait!
You get to see your portrait for the first time, yay! At this point, you have 48 hours to let me know what you love and/or if anything needs to be tweaked. Your purchase includes a total of 2 rounds of edits.
Your final portrait is sent to you :)
Once the portrait has been approved by you with a final message and a big smile, I will either...
- Email the final digital files of your new custom portrait for you to download, print, and frame
- Print your illustration and mail it to you (this option is only available if you purchased the “print & ship” add-on found)
VOILA, that’s it!
Want a custom portrait of your very own?
Snag one here in my shop! I can’t wait to see the photo(s) you choose :)
